Last Friday Monica and I went to her ultrasound appointment, where I sat around like a knot on a log through two ultrasounds (it takes a long time when there's two of 'em in there). Towards the end, the doctor came in and conversed worriedly with the nurse, whilst moving the ultrasound wand thingy up and around and all over Monica's extra-large belly. They couldn't find the membrane for Baby A's sac. Finally they found it, and confirmed that Baby A didn't have as much fluid as she was supposed to. They could only find a small pocket of the stuff, while Baby B was nicely padded all around in her little fluid cocoon.
Of course, it ain't good when a baby doesn't have enough fluid, so after all kinds of swarming around and trying to call other doctors for opinions and so forth, they told her to come back Monday.
Monica called me after her appointment and said the doctor was amazed, and said something like "everything sure looks different than it did Friday!" Baby A has just as much fluid as Baby B - everything is perfect.
Ain't God good?
