The Red Tape Chainsaw Massacre

I asked my boss a few weeks ago, via email, if I could have another monitor, and naturally she didn't reply, most likely because she didn't feel like entangling herself in the red tape and politics associated with my request.

So today when we moved into our new cubicles, I popped my head into the Desktop Support supervisor's office and innocently asked, "Can I have another monitor?"

"Sure, just grab one off the shelf", he replied. Do-huh-whut? "OK!". Wowzers.

Who knew it was that easy? So now I have two monitors sitting on my desk at work, and it's the ultimate productivity booster. I can write code on one monitor while I refer to documentation on the other, and so forth. Huzzah and hurray!

I feel like I just sliced through the red tape with a chainsaw. Take that, Big Business! Booyah!
