Where do we come from?

In one of my Art History classes I was forced to take in college, one of the artists we studied was Paul Gaugin. Perhaps his most famous work was entitled, "Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?". Click here to see it.

I remember staring at that page in my textbook thinking how fortunate I was to know the answer to all three of those questions. I had found the answers in a book.
