Pistol Shrimp

The first pistol wasn't carried by a Texas gunfighter, but a shrimp at the bottom of the sea. It cocks it's claw and fires, releasing a shockwave caused by collapsing bubbles which heat the surrounding water, momentarily, to the temperature of the sun.

Look at this video and explain how something like this could "evolve"...
