The Crack Tax

Selling drugs is illegal, right? Right. But did you know that Federal Law requires drug dealers to pay an Unauthorized Substances Tax by purchasing stamps and affixing them to illegal contraband? The dealer must purchase the stamps, in person (albeit supposedly anonymously) from the Department of Revenue ($3.50 for a gram of marijuana, $50 for a gram of cocaine, etc.). The idea is that most dealers will not (duh!) buy the stamps, and if/when their little stash is found by the authorities they'll not only go to the slammer, they'll also owe a ginormous fine for not paying their illegal contraband taxes!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is in fact possible to illegally distribute illegal drugs.
