Pilgrim's Progress

Voice of God Recordings just posted a very nice tribute to Sister Rebekah. Very nice indeed.

It's a little thrilling to think that just on the other side of the curtain, is a world beyond anything we could ever imagine. And a never-ending parade of wonderful people are there having a good ol' time. Just thrills me to death.

My daughter was very sick today, and her fever started going up an up, until her big brother and Mom laid hands on her and began to pray. And then her fever started going down and down. And now she's running around getting into stuff she shouldn't, just like she should.

Actual quote: "Momma, give me one more apple and then I'll be better".

I've started reading a few pages of Pilgrim's Progress to my family each night, which is a very hard read, I must say. But also a wonderful read. Wonderful illustrations, such as when Interpreter shows Christian a man throwing water on a fire that won't go out. The fire is the Holy Ghost, the man is the devil, and Christ is standing on the other side, behind the scenes, throwing oil on the fire to make it glow bigger and brighter despite Satan's best efforts.

While Christian was on his misguided road to the City of Morality (told to go there by Worldly Wiseman), it gave me the opportunity to try to explain to the kiddies a little fact that millions of "Christians" around the world seem to fail to understand. That God will never send anyone to hell for being bad. Only for rejecting Him.

After giving everything He had, even His own life, what else can He do with someone who rejects His endless, unfathomable love?

I'm learning more about His love every day. And it thrills me.
