*Yawn*

I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. But driven by a desire to support my family, I was able to stagger my way to the shower, whereupon someone promptly flushed the toilet in the other bathroom. Boy, that woke me up.

Saturday morning we were told that we wouldn't have to come to work until 7:00 AM on Sunday, so we decided we could go to the monthly (church) fellowship meeting since I would be able to get a good night's sleep afterwards. Of course, as soon as I got home, I got another email saying we would need to be at work promptly at 1:00 AM. I'm sure many of you are horrified that I would be asked to go to work at such a horrific hour (Hi Mom!), but that's whut I get paid for. Or something.

The office was quite crowded at such an early hour, and I frankly had great difficulty keeping a straight face at the sight of so many dissheveled coworkers, who normally take great pride in maintaining a professional appearance. I almost laughed out loud when I saw my boss. Thankfully my job preservation skills kicked in at the last second and I was able to contain my mirth.

On a more outraged note, several of the networking employees had worked almost 48 hours straight without sleep; one guy said he had fallen asleep standing up! Quite frankly, I was quite outraged, and I feel strongly that someone should contact the Jerry Springer show immediately!

What kind of industry am I in, anyway?

That was definitely a horrific hour and I hope you never have to pull the 48-hour shift! That sounds humanly impossible!
Glad it's over with!
Love,
Mom
