Never stop learning

"Never stop learning." How often have I heard that phrase. The trouble is I can't stop learning. Microsoft will be releasing .Net 2.0 next month, along with a host of new development tools and technologies. And almost exactly a year later they'll be releasing Windows Vista, along with WinFX, which includes about a gazillion new technologies, including a database-based file system (WinFS), new rendering system (Avalon), Workflow Foundation Services, and so much more!

Oh, and next month the next version of SQL Server will be released. Forgot about that.

Microsoft is a joy and a pain all at the same time. It's exciting to see the new advances in technology, and how much less work (supposedly) you'll have to do to support their new products, but then you've got all this stuff to learn every two years or so. And believe me, there's a lot to learn. Over 1,000 software developers are working on the next version of Windows.

Let the fun begin.
